AID FOR FRIENDS

Thanks to everyone who has been assisting in this very worthy program; here’s some information for those of you not familiar with it:

Providing meals and bowls of soup for neighbors in need.
The Presbyterian Church of Deep Run is partnering with St. Andrews UCC to develop an upper Bucks network.
April – 56 meals and 29 bowls of soup were taken to St. Andrews to serve upper Bucks clients.
Please take dishes and bowls (available in Narthex and Hoopes Hall) home with you. Fill with your extra food, freeze, and bring back to the kitchen. Place in the Aid for Friends freezer.
There are many people in need of a helping hand!

Celebration Sunday: June 13th

You are invited to a Celebration! On June 13th, our Sunday School students will be ending their formal church school year and will conduct the 9AM service for you! We will be recognizing student attendance, as well as our teachers. Please share in this special event, and share your well wishes to the students and teachers for another great school year learning more about our Savior!

Reminder to all Kindergarten through 6th grade students, please arrive on June 13th, at 8:45 AM, to practice the anthem in the 5th & 6th grade classroom. Thank you!

PENTECOST SUNDAY – May 23rd, 2010

THIS SUNDAY, MAY 23rd, IS PENTECOST. Pentecost is the Sunday when the church celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit to the church, 50 days after Easter. It is often called the Birthday of the Church because it’s the day when the church is empowered by the Spirit to do ministry. For more background read Acts Chapter 2. Traditionally the color for Pentecost is red, symbolizing the fire of the spirit. Therefore, there will be lots of red in the sanctuary. But everyone is also encouraged to WEAR SOMETHING RED so the sanctuary is really filled with the red fire of the spirit.

Current Needs:

Diapers ( size 3,4,&5)
Canned Meat
Baby Wipes
Paper towels
Canned Fish
Toilet Tissue
Fruit Juice
Coffee or Tea
Sugar & Flour
Spaghetti Sauce
Soap(hand, dish, and laundry)

Keep the donations coming! Any and every Sunday, during the week if up for a meeting – leave donations in Narthex or downstairs entry in green tubs.
